Built for centuries

Podere Cortilla was built from an old medieval building whose core structure still remains. The walls and facade show traces of many extensions and modifications carried out in the course of centuries. It was affectionately restored over several years, combining old architecture with all the modern comforts. We took great care to save or reconstruct the authentic tuscan elements and structures.

Architectural highlights are, among other things, the well-preserved cross-shaped arched ceilings, and the artfully adorned back facade with its rare terracotta elements. However, these elements have been restored and are partly not mounted outside anymore.

The building has six apartments of various sizes. All apartments are well appointed and comfortably furnished in tuscan style. Each apartment is situated in a separate section of the building, with its own access, offering you undisturbed privacy.

The building has additional housekeeping rooms including the cantina vecchia (old cellar), where our wine is pressed and stored in barrels, and the cantina nuova (new cellar), where garden furniture, washing machines and iron and ironing board are available for guests to use. Here are also wasching machines, iron and ironing board for guests to use.
