A Garden in Tuscany
Podere Cortilla has more than 20 ha (50 acres) of country with forest, meadows, fields, vineyards and olive groves. This is an ideal place for quiet holidays with abundant animal and plant life. There are plenty of places to wander around and to sit and enjoy nature.
You can swim in the beautiful swimming pool (14m x 7m/46ft x 23ft) and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view. There are plenty of beach chairs, lounge chairs, and umbrellas. At the pool there is a toilet and a changing room. You can enjoy a meal on a separate patio which has a large Barbecue and is covered with a grape arbor.
Our wine is cultivated with traditional tuscan methods and vine varieties: San Giovese (or San Gioveto) with a proportion of Cabernet as red wine, Trebbiano as white wine. The wine is unadulterated, has beautiful color and rich character. Olive oil from the region of Volterra is one of the best in
Near the house, there are quite a few fruit trees, and among these, right in front of the wine cellar, an old impressive fig tree. A vegetable garden can also be found behind the house. It supplies seasonable products, which our guests can purchase either fresh or preserved as homemade tomato sauce or jam.
